Meet Jasmine
Licensed nail aficionado Jasmine has been obsessed with all things nail related ever since she could utter the words “manicure.” With the inception of Jasmine’s Nail Obsession, LLC, her dream of a healthy nail movement where beauty and perfection meet came true. The mission of Jasmine’s Nail Obsession is to educate communities about nail health and nail services, and ultimately to provide great customer service to every client! And their feedback shows she’s reaching her goals: “Jasmine is a complete professional and makes every appointment like a therapy session,” says one of Jasmine’s VIP clients. “She has completely spoiled me and ruined the typical salon experience in the best way.”
Jasmine’s obsession with nails started as a young child, it’s true, but it was when she was in college that it developed into an art. Soon, she found herself creating beautiful manicures for her peers—a great way to earn extra money. After completing her college education in Arlington, VA, Jasmine went on to create handmade nail polish and birthed a brand called Creating Lacquer. She put the money earned from Creating Lacquer toward nail school tuition. She also started a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for school and received support from one of her favorite brands, ORLY, which generously provided her with nail supplies for her classes.
After completing nail school, while still receiving nail services from salons within her community, Jasmine noticed the mistreatment of many African American men, women, and children by salon owners and nail technicians—everything from simple miscommunications between customers and employees, a lack of customer service, poor nail services and cleanliness. Seeing this treatment sparked a desire in Jasmine to provide perfection in both her services and relationships with every customer, while also educating men, women, and children about proper nail care.
Another VIP client says: “When I came to Jasmine, my natural nails were a mess. My previous nail techs had used harmful products on my nails, and there was a lot of damage control to do. Jasmine happily took over, and from my first nail appointment, she taught me so much—about nail care, why she was using the products she was using, and how my nails would be back to normal before I knew it. It hasn’t even been 6 months yet since going to her, and about 75% of my nails are without tip, which was my goal since we started my nail journey.”
Within Jasmine’s five years of being a licensed professional, she has accomplished some major accolades with the help of other amazing nail artists and educators. Jasmine is a licensed nail educator and actively teaches nails to beginners, intermediate, and advanced nail professionals. She also worked New York Fashion Week (NYFW) for designer Paola Hernandez, providing nail services for models in the District of Fashion Summer 2019 Fashion Show. Jasmine loves working fashions shows the fast past environment really challenges her to work on her speed and working in different environments.
Although Jasmine has accomplished a lot in her short time as a professional, she is always working to accomplish more!
